Coutume Café, Paris VII – France

What did the Ozzie say to the Frog when he crossed his path? Cou + tu + me! And so Coutume Café opened last Spring in Paris’ posh 7th arrondissement steps from the iconic La Pagode independent movie theater established in 1931 and still today praised for its japanese room and gardens (registered under French Heritage) as much as viewings.

International, organic, lofty, industrial, design, fresh, artisanal… Coutume offers a perfect setting for barista Kevin (from Iowa, US of A!) to do his thing by mixing freshly roasted beans (imported bi-monthly from sustainable and ethical coffee plantations around the world and roasted right on site in the back of the shop) according to his inspiration.

Seasonal soups, tasty salads, pains au lait (by Jocteur), crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside buns (by the much talked about Gontran Cherrier) and sweet & pretty pastries (by Pâtisserie des Rêves) – at Coutume Café, a fine cast of culinary artists is staged to pamper your taste buds – and it works.

What’s more? Weekends from 11a.m. – 4p.m., a San Francisco duo turned parisian caters to brunch addicts with specialties like pumpkin spice cake, banana bread,  home fries, burrito, scrambled eggs, honey granola – yu-mmy! Tried it. Loved it. Shared it.

Cou + tu + me!

International, organique, industriel, design, frais, artisanal…

Have a nice day!

  1. Thanks for the likes fellow bloggers. If you’re interested in this style of contemporary design meddling with heritage architecture, the design team behind it is Cut Architectures. A bientôt, Tristane.
